Day 13: Silver Spoon

1) What is your reaction to the text you just read? Well, it is very familiar. I have actually seen the anime adaptation while it was being released to the US. I greatly enjoyed the series for you feel that you are experiencing the story along with protagonist who is also an outsider to farm culture. I also appreciate that the story teaches you so much about the farming culture and other people's views on different areas of farming. I really enjoyed the anime adaption and loved how true it stayed to the manga as I was reading it. I love how proactive and willing the main character is throughout the manga, this makes the reader get excited when he does and feel that they have learned something really interesting. Day 11: Alternate Worlds

I had heard about the Boy and the Beast, but haven't had the chance to watch it yet. I was really enjoying the film. I found the beginning a bit cheesy, but it established everything that was happening and makes the world building easy to understand. I can see similarities between this and Zootopia, with the world building and the animal metaphors. I will definitely be finishing the film, it does a great job at building characters. I want to see what happens, to see how the film plays out, which to me makes this a successful film. I like the animation too, though it is very clean it still has good expression, especially with the bear guy. I also like the design of the Boar guy, I was sure he was going to be a lion for in American films the king tends to be a lion, but in Japan lions are not prevalent where as boars are. Day 8: Diversity of Gender and Sexuality

Along with 'My Lesbian Experience', I actually really like reading Shojo ai/yuri manga. I had not had the chance til not to read 'My Lesbian Experience', but I enjoyed the book. I see why it was so critically acclaimed and felt more like a retelling of life verses a story. I would not say the overall story was satisfying, it almost felt like a documentary with some humor. With the illustrations along with the overall story, it is a very moving piece that gives a good perspective on her life experience. Overall I would definitely recommend the book to others to see what it could be like for someone who is gay. Another story I am currently reading, it is still coming out weekly, is 'The Mage and the Demon Queen'. This is a story about a world that basically works like a video game, where there is usually a Demon King controlling the area and people train to become knights and mages in order to defeat the Demon King and become ruler.
